General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, witnessed the ceremony honoring a number of Commanders who concluded their service in the Armed Forces and were retired on the first of July 2023.
Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Commanders of the Main Branches, and a number of Senior Commanders of the Armed Forces along with their families, attended the ceremony.
The Commander-in-Chief awarded the honored Commanders the Medal of the Republic of the second class, which was endorsed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, in appreciation of their sincere national efforts throughout their service in the Armed Forces, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Senior of the honored Commanders gave a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the General Command of the Armed Forces for the unlimited support they provided during their years of work, which helped them work with all sincerity and dedication, indicating that they vowed themselves to serve and defend the homeland so that the Armed Forces shall always remain a model of giving to the homeland, generation after generation.
General Mohamed Zaki conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the commanders who spent their mission within the Armed Forces with all credibility, sincerity, and honesty.
The Commander-in-Chief praised the honored Commanders who were role models in discipline, commitment and work for the advancement of the Nation and the protection of its sanctities, highlighting that the shifting in the commanding responsibility and transferring it from a generation to another is one of the military traditions that the Armed Forces has preserved.
